Acupuncture has been shown in several studies to improve many hormonally-mediated symptoms across the lifespan such as irregular menses, painful menses, insomnia, migraines, hot flashes, PMS and mood dysfunction.

I have over 15 years of experience working with women of all age who are struggling with a variety of fertility issues using acupuncture in conjunction with diet, lifestyle and complementary therapies as well as with those who are pursuing conventional treatments with a reproductive endocrinologist (RE).  This includes acupuncture specifically for those undergoing IVF, both prior to and the day of embryo transfer, which has been shown in research studies to improve pregnancy outcomes. In addition, acupuncture may be helpful in alleviating some of the side effects associated with hormonal prescriptions used by RE’s to improve fertility.

Acupuncture may also be helpful in combating pregnancy-related symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and muscle and joint pain as well as potentially decreasing risk of miscarriage, “flipping” a breech presentation, and inducing labor.
